Bola Oyebamiji, the immediate past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress, APC, consensus candidate for the Osun State governorship election
His emergence was sealed at the party’s primary venue within Ebunoluwa Group of Schools, Osogbo, after two aspirants, Kunle Adegoke (SAN) and Senator Babajide Omoworare, jointly moved a motion endorsing him as the party’s flagbearer.

The proposal was put to a voice vote by the chairman of the APC governorship primary committee and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and it was overwhelmingly affirmed by party delegates and members in attendance.
Following the affirmation, Okpebholo announced, “By the power conferred on me, I present to you Bola Oyebamiji, as the governorship candidate of our party.”
The APC primary began earlier in Osogbo with the arrival of the primary committee led by Okpebholo, who had indicated ahead of the exercise that the candidate would emerge through affirmation. He was accompanied by the committee’s co-chairman, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as well as other members, including Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Dr Obafemi Hamzat representing the Lagos State Governor, and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.
