Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan has reportedly left the political group EKO 57, following heated online reactions to his recent comments about politics.

The actor had previously shared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remarks that quickly stirred controversy on social media.

Critics accused Afolayan of being insensitive, and the backlash escalated into online harassment. Feeling the pressure, the actor later issued an apology, clarifying that his statements were misunderstood and expressing regret for any offense caused.

In the midst of the storm, Legemiami, a key member of EKO 57, took to social media to defend Afolayan. In a firm message, he said:

“Aremu Afolayan is no longer a member of EKO 57. Please stop bully!ng him. If you want to bul*y anybody, come and bully me or my members. Leave him alone.”

Legemiami emphasized that the actor’s departure was not a punishment, but a way to ease tensions and protect him from further attacks.

He also reminded followers that any anger should be directed toward him or other members of the group, not Afolayan personally.
