Abdul DanBature, self-styled president of the Arewa Youths, has unexpectedly called for the release of online activist VeryDarkMan
This comes as a surprise, because just weeks ago, he had threatened VDM over comments he made about the Sultan of Sokoto; a thing that made the two openly clash.
In a new video, DanBature begged security agencies to free VeryDarkMan, citing his support for Northern youths and unity among Nigerian youth in times of crisis.
He emphasized VDM’s connection to the North, where he was born and raised.
He said: “I want to appeal to security agencies for the release of Verydarkman. Indeed we need to stand by each other anytime one of our youth leader gets into a problem or trouble. We need to come together as Nigerian youths to stand for ourselves
The reason why we are standing with him is because he has always stood for the northern youths. In fact he is a northerner because he was born and brought up in the north”
