Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secured a crucial 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at Emirates Stadium, marking their first win in the revamped Champions League
Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scored in the first half, setting the tone for a dominant display. Havertz headed home Leandro Trossard’s cross in the 20th minute, while Saka’s free-kick deceived Gianluigi Donnarumma.
PSG, sans superstars Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar, threatened through Nuno Mendes and Joao Neves, who hit the woodwork. However, Arsenal’s first-half performance sealed the win.
Manager Mikel Arteta introduced debutant Mikel Merino, a £31m signing from Real Sociedad, in the second half, as Arsenal navigated periods of pressure.
