According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal has reached an agreement to sign midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad

The club had agreed on personal terms with Merino in July, but negotiations had stalled due to a valuation gap.
Following multiple rounds of talks, Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay met with Arsenal in London to finalize the deal.
Romano reports that the transfer is now complete, with Arsenal signing Merino for an initial £27.2 million plus £4.2 million in add-ons.
The 28-year-old Spanish international has impressed in La Liga with his duel-winning ability, aerial presence, and forward passing, contributing 13 goals for Sociedad last season.
Merino has been described as “world-class” by Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney.
