New measures have been introduced to speed up play and reduce time-wasting. Players being substituted must leave the pitch within 10 seconds or their replacement will be delayed by one minute. Throw-ins and goal kicks must now be taken within five seconds, or possession will be handed to the opposing team.

Players who receive treatment on the field will be required to step off and remain out for at least one minute before returning, unless the injury was caused by a foul that resulted in a card.
