Arsenal Football Club has confirmed the permanent signing of goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford in a deal worth around £27 million
Raya’s impressive performance during his loan spell at Arsenal last season led to the fulfillment of a pre-existing agreement with Brentford.
The initial loan deal, worth £3 million, was structured to convert to a permanent transfer worth £27 million for financial reasons.
Now, at the start of a new financial cycle, Arsenal has finalized the long-term signing of the 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper.
During his loan spell, Raya made 41 appearances, kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League, and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s Champions League campaign.
Manager Mikel Arteta expressed delight in keeping Raya, citing his importance to the team and his potential for future success.
