Arsenal Women have reached a historic agreement with Liverpool to sign Canadian forward Olivia Smith for a world-record transfer fee of £1million—the highest ever in women’s football
The 20-year-old, who only joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2024 for around £210,000, has quickly made her mark in the Women’s Super League. She scored 7 goals in 20 matches, making her Liverpool’s top scorer last season.
Despite receiving offers from several top clubs, including Chelsea and Lyon, Liverpool held firm until Arsenal met their valuation.
