Edu Gaspar, Arsenal’s influential sporting director, is leaving the club amid interest from Evangelos Marinakis’ multi-club network, including Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos
Gaspar, who played for Arsenal’s legendary 2003/04 Invincibles squad, joined the club in 2019 and transformed their transfer strategy and on-field identity.
His notable signings include Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, while offloading Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil.
Under Gaspar, Arsenal spent £867m, securing an FA Cup win and consecutive Premier League runner-up finishes. His departure marks a significant shakeup in Arsenal’s transfer department.
Gaspar to join Marinakis’ multi-club network, Arsenal now faces the challenge of finding a successor to sustain Gaspar’s momentum. Manager Mikel Arteta is expected to address the situation on Tuesday.
