Former Niger Delta freedom fighter Mujahid Asari-Dokubo has cautioned against extending the planned nationwide protest against hardship to the Niger Delta region
He made this statement at the Niger Delta Sensitisation Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday.
Asari-Dokubo alleged that the protest organizers’ agenda does not align with the concerns of the Niger Delta people and are only interested in the region’s resources.
He vowed to resist any protest in the area, stating that he has the capacity to do so.
He also criticized the protesters for not addressing the region’s specific needs, such as the lack of hospitals in Kalabari land, which has been a long-standing issue.
Asari-Dokubo warned against being deceived by “flowery words and statements” and emphasized the need for tangible actions to impact society and the environment.
