Governor El-Rufai’s son, Bashir El-Rufai has said the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU is useless and should be scrapped.
Bashir suggested this in a twitter post.
His statement comes shortly after the extension of the ongoing strike by ASUU.
The union has been on strike since February 14.
Some of the demands of the lecturers include improved investment in education, and the implementation of the 2009 agreement which contains its members’ conditions of service.
Condemning the extension of the strike; Bashir wrote;
“ASUU is a very useless Union. They should be scrapped & replaced with educators that actually give a damn about students and how that translates to the future of this country.”
