Awolowo’s grandson, Segun Awolowo is d3ad

Olusegun Awolowo, grandson of the late Western Region Premier Obafemi Awolowo, has passed away.

The Awolowo family confirmed his death in a statement on Thursday.

“With extreme heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Olusegun Awolowo,” the family said in the statement shared by Goldmynetv. They added that condolences will be received at his residence daily from 2 to 4 p.m.

Born on September 27, 1963, Olusegun Awolowo was a lawyer and served as the executive director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) from 2013 to 2021. During his tenure, he led initiatives to expand Nigeria’s non-oil exports and enhance the country’s position in global trade.
