Ayo Makun has reflected on how society has normalised choosing sides in conflicts without examining the underlying causes
In a post on X, Makun said both emotional neglect and betrayal were painful experiences, but argued that one should not justify the other.
According to him, more relationships could survive if both parties accepted responsibility instead of shifting blame or turning disagreements into public contests.
He wrote: “We have normalised choosing sides so much that we no longer ask what truly went wrong.
“Emotional neglect is painful.Betrayal is painful too. One hurt should not automatically become justification for another. Maybe relationships would survive more if accountability was shared instead of outsourced”.
