Spotify announced its 2024 music global impact list, recognizing the top 30 Nigerian tracks with the most significant global reach and streaming success.
Ayra Starr emerged as the most streamed Nigerian artist with her collaborations and solo tracks taking top spots.
Other Nigerian artists, including Tems, Luciano, Omah Lay, and Burna Boy, also feature prominently on the list.
According to Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, Phiona Okumu, the list highlights Nigerian tracks that have achieved significant global impact and streaming success outside of Nigeria in the first half of 2024.
The recognition underscores the growing global popularity of Nigerian music, particularly Afrobeats, and its ability to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
