Alimat Omidina, daughter of late Nollywood legends Babatunde Omidina (Baba Suwe) and Omoladun Omidina, has responded to accusations questioning her parentage
A netizen had claimed she was too young to be Moladun’s daughter, prompting Alimat to share a heartfelt video showing her parents’ graves, where they were buried side by side. The video also featured a throw pillow from her naming ceremony, with Moladun holding her as a baby, as well as framed photos of her late parents.
Expressing disbelief over the need to prove her lineage, Alimat captioned the video, “Why on earth will I lie about my parents?”
The video stirred emotions online, with many paying tribute to Baba Suwe and Moladun. Fans noted Alimat’s striking resemblance to her father and reminisced about the joy the late actors brought to their audiences.
One user commented, “She really looks like her dad,” while another wrote, “They were true legends… May Almighty rest their souls in peace.”
Baba Suwe, known for his comedic roles, passed away in November 2021, leaving behind a lasting legacy in Nollywood. His wife, Moladun, also a celebrated actress, had died earlier in September 2009. Their impact on the Yoruba film industry remains unforgettable.
