Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, announced on Facebook the tragic death of Professor Yusuf Saidu, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research, Innovation, and Development
He was fatally attacked by bandits while traveling to Kaduna from Sokoto State.
The university remembered him as a man of integrity, religion, dedication, and courage, and his loss has left a painful impact on the academic community.
Despite extensive military efforts and significant funding, the northern region continues to struggle with rampant banditry.
