The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has disclosed how the 38 churchgoers abducted last Tuesday in Eruku, Kwara State, were freed on Sunday, November 23.
Speaking to Arise TV on the evening of November 24, Onanuga explained that both the military and the Department of State Security (DSS) played key roles in securing the victims’ release.

According to him, security operatives engaged directly with the kidnappers, leaving them with no choice but to comply.
“They made contact with the bandits to secure the release of the captives. Security agencies have tracking systems that allow them to monitor such criminals in real time. They reached out to the kidnappers and demanded the release of the victims, and the bandits complied, knowing the consequences of defying government directives,” Onanuga said.
