Amidst violent protests in Bangladesh, there are reports that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled to Finland
The protests, which began last month, have resulted in a d3ath toll of 100 and have shaken the nation.
According to sources, Sheikh Hasina and her sister have left the Prime Minister’s official residence, Ganabhaban, for a safer location. The Prime Minister had intended to record a speech but was unable to do so.
The protests, led by student groups, demand the scrapping of a controversial quota system in government jobs, which reserves 30% of positions for families of 1971 war veterans.
Despite the Supreme Court’s decision to reduce the quota to 5%, the protests have continued.
This development marks a significant challenge for Sheikh Hasina, who has served as Prime Minister for five terms.
However, it is essential to note that the accuracy of these reports has not been officially confirmed.
