Barrow’s Spokesman Says Jammeh Will Not Be Prosecuted For Alleged Crimes Committed Since He Took Power In A Bloodless Coup In 1994

The spokesman for Adama Barrow, Halifa Sallah has told the BBC’s Newshour radio programme that The Gambia will be in a “state of war” if Yahya Jammeh refuses to give up power.

While urging Mr Jammeh to leave office, Sallah said he will not be prosecuted for alleged crimes committed since he took power in a bloodless coup in 1994. He urged him to step down so as not to put The Gambia in a state of war.
