Basketmouth sparks debate on polygamy with BIBLICAL references

Renowned comedian Basketmouth has sparked a lively discussion on social media by suggesting support for polygamy based on Biblical examples.

On his Instagram story, the comedian compared the lives of various Biblical characters with respect to marriage. According to Basketmouth, those who had only one wife, such as Ahab, Herod, Ananias, Pontius Pilate, Jeroboam, Nebuchadnezzar, Haaman, and Zakayo, “lost their way and betrayed God.“

In contrast, he pointed out that Biblical figures like Abraham with 3 wives, Jacob with 4 wives, David with 4 wives, Solomon with 700 wives and 300 concubines, as well as others such as Rehoboam, Abijah, Elkanah, and Lemech, “found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”

Basketmouth concluded his post by stating, “Whatever you do with this information is none of my business… However u want to interpret it is your cup of tea but I will be comment session.”

The comedian’s views sparked a flurry of reactions in the comment section, with many users sharing their opinions on his interpretation of the Biblical teachings on marriage.
