Basketmouth’s ex-wife, Elsie Okpocha has questioned the essence of marriage following a conversation on Facebook about emotional neglect in relationships
She made her point while reacting to a post shared by a user identified as Nelly, who narrated how a woman revealed she does not use her husband as her emergency contact because he hardly picks up her calls—even in normal situations.
Nelly expressed sadness over the situation, describing it as heartbreaking.
“Someone told me she doesn’t have her husband as her emergency contact and I asked why? She said cos he won’t pick her calls normally talk more of emergency.
I felt sad for her”, she said.
Reacting to the post, Elsie Okpocha questioned what marriage truly stands for, suggesting that many women silently go through deeper emotional struggles than what is publicly seen.
“And sometimes u wonder the essence of marriage…. when this is a tip of the iceberg of what women go through, sad!”
