In a shocking turn of events, Belgium suffered a 1-0 loss to Slovakia in Group D of the European Championship on Monday
Slovakia secured their win with a goal from Ivan Schranz in the seventh minute, and their defense held strong despite numerous attempts by Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku, who had two goals overturned by video review.
Additionally, Slovakia’s Dávid Hancko made a crucial goal-line block in the 62nd minute, preserving their lead.
Belgium’s loss ended their 15-game undefeated streak under coach Domenico Tedesco, and they will face Romania on Saturday in Cologne.
Meanwhile, Slovakia must prepare to face Ukraine on Friday in Duesseldorf with one less day of preparation.
