Between a woman & her neighbour’s excess farting
A woman has been left outraged at her “extremely gassy” neighbour who seems to spend his entire day smoking cigarettes and farting.
She explained how she has misophonia, a disorder in which certain sounds trigger emotional or physiological responses, and cannot stand the sounds and smells her neighbour creates on a daily basis.
While she didn’t want to say anything about it, her boyfriend brought it up with their building supervisor, hoping he’d pass the message along to their neighbour.
However, now she feels bad for possibly embarrassing the man, knowing he can’t help his flatulence.
Taking to Reddit, she said: “A man lives below me with his wife and mum. He has no job and just sits below my bedroom window all day and night smoking cigs non stop and farting extremely loudly. I do not smoke and I have very intense misophonia so the mixture of smell and sounds makes me nuts.”
Since her boyfriend brought it up with the building supervisor, the man has moved his chair one window along in an attempt to reduce the smells.
She added: “The gassy man moved his chair slightly to the left (below my second window). A few weeks later he texted my roommate about it saying that he moved the chair because he knows I don’t like the smell (he moved it back below the original window).”
“Now that it’s colder he’s started to smoke in the garbage room, which is connected to a door in my living room that has about an inch of space between the door and floor. Makes the living room smell like s***. Wanting to speak up, but worried about the confrontation, she asked Reddit: “I know I need to say something. Maybe I’m the bad neighbour for refusing to communicate.
