Davido and Wande Coal have clashed publicly over their unreleased collaboration, with the disagreement escalating after both artistes gave different accounts of why their joint song, ‘Come My Way,’ never saw the light of day

The development followed Davido’s recent interview with Uncut, where he explained that the collaboration was shelved after he and Wande Coal disagreed over how the song should be released.
Davido said Wande Coal initially approached him to feature on the song, after which he recorded a verse. According to him, the disagreement arose when Wande Coal planned to release the original song first and subsequently use Davido’s contribution for a remix.
Davido said he did not record his verse with the intention of it being used on a remix, which ultimately led to the collaboration not being released.
Wande Coal, however, rejected Davido’s account in a post on X, arguing that ‘Come My Way’ already had a release plan and date before the disagreement.
He tweeted, “Carry song come give you as how? Song wey been get release plan and date!!! Song wey no be your own you wan dictate release plan.”
He also noted that the song performed well without Davido’s contribution, “That song fkin did well without you on it bruv!!!,” pushing back against the suggestion that the collaboration’s failure was primarily linked to his release strategy.
The disagreement later escalated on social media, with the two artistes exchanging personal jabs.
