Bijou Phillips is facing a scary health battle
The 45-year-old is currently hospitalized, her rep confirmed to TMZ, and under care at UCLA Health where she’s on dialysis and in need of a second kidney donation.
Bijou—who is mom 11-year-old daughter Fianna with ex-husband Danny Masterson—also shared the news on social media, noting, “I need help finding a kidney.”
“I’m asking as a friend, a sister, an aunt,” she wrote, “and, most importantly, a single mother to an incredible and brave daughter.”
The model also shared more of her story, noting she was born with underdeveloped kidneys and spent three months in the NICU on dialysis as a newborn.
“In 2017, I received the incredible gift of a kidney from a dear friend,” she wrote. “That transplant gave me 8 precious years to be a mother to my daughter—but I have had many complications since, including the BK virus which led to both a cellular and antibody rejection.”
Sharing the name of her physician, Dr. Anjay Rastogi, Bijou also shared information about how to become a donor.
Noting “time is of the essence” and thanking fans for their support, she concluded, “Please help me find a living donor so that I can have more time with my daughter, family, and friends.”
