Actress, Biodun Okeowo has spoken out about her decision to leave the movie industry, revealing a shocking reason behind her departure
The actress, who recently tied the knot, addressed fans’ concerns about her absence from the screen.
According to her, the exit from the industry was prompted by the unprofessional and exploitative behavior of marketers, who demanded sexual favors in exchange for career advancement.
Although she didn’t mention specific names, she shared how these individuals sabotaged her career, making her life miserable.
Biodun recounted how she was blacklisted, excluded from movie projects, and even had her image removed from a film poster.
The cumulative effect of these experiences led to her disillusionment with the industry and eventual departure.
She said:
“Marketers were the reason I left the movie industry after blacklisting me for refusing to remove my panties. They even told producers to stop featuring me in movies and went as far as removing my head from the poster of a film where I played the lead role.
“How many of their wicked actions should I even talk about? They did so much damage to my career that I eventually got tired of acting and walked away by myself. I developed so much hatred for a job I once had so much passion for that I began to turn jobs down,” she revealed.
