‘Black-ish’ star, Jenifer Lewis says she fell in Africa and intends to make that her ”new journey”

Jenifer Lewis, known for her role in “Black-ish,” has shared a harrowing experience on ‘GMA’ with Robin Roberts, detailing a near-fatal fall she suffered while vacationing in Africa two years ago

The incident occurred in late 2022, shortly after wrapping up production on Season 8 of her hit show.

While staying at a hotel in Serengeti, Jenifer accidentally fell from a balcony, plummeting a staggering 10 feet onto the ground below.

She explained that she didn’t realize there was a gap between her balcony and the infinity pool, which she mistook for accessible directly from her room due to the darkness.

The impact of the fall left Jenifer in excruciating pain, particularly in her right hip and shoulder.

Despite her initial shock and immobility, she urged herself to move, fearing the danger of wild animals in the area, including a Cape buffalo that came dangerously close.

Fortunately, help arrived, and Jenifer was rescued from the scene.

However, her road to recovery has been long and challenging, spanning the better part of a year.

Now, she feels ready to share her story as a cautionary tale, highlighting the importance of being vigilant and aware of one’s surroundings, especially in unfamiliar environments.
