Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has sparked a wave of online backlash after publicly declaring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The actor took to Instagram to announce his appointment as the Coordinator of the Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) association in Atlanta, United States.
In his post, Ninalowo described the role as an honour, signaling his willingness to actively promote the president’s agenda abroad.
“Honoured to serve as Coordinator! Atlanta/USA for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. RTIFN,” he wrote.
The announcement, however, quickly ignited criticism across social media. Many fans and followers expressed disappointment, accusing the actor of endorsing a government they believe has failed to address Nigeria’s economic hardship, insecurity, and rising cost of living.
While some defended Ninalowo’s right to his political beliefs, others argued that public figures should be more sensitive to public sentiment, especially at a time when many Nigerians are struggling.
As reactions continue to pour in, Ninalowo has yet to respond to the criticism, but the controversy underscores the growing tension surrounding celebrity involvement in Nigeria’s deeply polarised political space.
