Brazilian social media personality Rita Ephrem has died at 31 after a long battle with a rare auto‑inflammatory d!sease she openly shared with her followers.
In a heartfelt tribute, her family wrote (translated) that “her story does not end here … It lives on in everything she planted within each of us. We carry on with a sense of longing, but also with gratitude for having walked alongside her.” Fans have filled her social media pages with messages of love and remembrance.
According to Brazilian news outlet g1, Rita first began experiencing severe symptoms as a young adult, including high fever, intense joint pain, diarrhea, and vomiting, before being diagnosed with the uncommon condition. She chose to share her health journey publicly, giving followers insight into living with a chronic illness.
Shortly before her death, her family revealed that her condition had worsened, requiring intubation and multiple antibiotics. Unfortunately, she lost the battle.
Rita’s funeral was held at Paróquia Santa Generosa, where family and friends gathered to celebrate her life and legacy.
