A baby crowned Britain’s third-largest newborn was delivered weighing more than a stone and is already the same size as his 16-month-old sister.
Five-month-old Alpha Stone Mitchell, is as big as his older sister Twyla-Bay, who is almost one and a half.
His mum says his massive growth is thanks to his hearty breakfasts of porridge.
Alpha was born via C-section on October 28 last year, weighing in at a chunky 14lbs 15oz, making him Britain’s third largest newborn.
Despite not yet being six months old, big boy Alpha – who now weighs 1st 10lbs, is already wearing clothing designed for nine to 12-month-olds.
Mum Cherral Mitchell, 31, told the Sun she has had to wean her hungry little man off milk.
Now Alpha loves to chow down on porridge and rusk biscuits, even though most babies don’t do so until at least 26 weeks.
Cherral said: “We knew he was going to be a big boy as my bump was huge, but we didn’t realise quite how big he would be until he was here.
“I’d had three babies before and with Alpha it felt like we skipped the newborn stage altogether and went straight to him being three months old.”
People often mistake Alpha and his sister Twyla-Bay for twins, despite her being more than three times his age, Cherral said, because Alpha is already almost the same height as her.
Alpha starts the day with baby porridge, followed by a 7oz bottle of baby milk every three hours and a baby rusk biscuit in the evening.
Cherral who is also mum to Rouge-Angel, five, Lyon, three, and Twyla-Bay, one, with electrical engineer husband Tyson, 36, said none of her other children were anywhere near Alpha’s size at the same age.
When he was born at John Radcliffe Hospital in 2021 Cherral and Tyson were shocked at his size, despite doctors’ predictions that their baby would be a whopper.
Cherral added: “When we first saw him, my first thought was he was not going to fit into any of the clothes I’d brought in the hospital bag.
“Tyson even had to go home to bring back some three to six-month clothes for him”, she said narrating how the journey began.
