Nollywood actor Browny Igboegwu has maintained his support for Peter Obi despite the criticism that followed his recent political statement.
The actor had earlier described Obi as the best person to lead Nigeria, adding that Nigerians would continue to suffer if they voted for the APC. He has made it clear that he has no plans to take back those words.
Reacting to the criticism, Igboegwu questioned what ordinary Nigerians have gained since President Bola Tinubu came into office.
He argued that the benefits of the current administration appear to favour politicians and members of the political class, while everyday citizens continue to struggle.
In a post he shared, he said:
“My last post, where I said Peter Obi is the best thing that can happen to Nigeria and that if you vote for APC, Nigerians will continue to suffer, generated a lot of controversy. However, I still stand by what I said.
“Since President Tinubu assumed office, what has the common man benefited from this government? Instead, it is the political class that seems to be benefiting. All these social media ‘billionaires’ who keep promoting APC, I will come for you all soon”.
