Burna Boy has broken another music record in Nigeria. His new song ‘Higher’ got 2.3 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in its first week. This beats the old record of 2.1 million streams held by Rema and Shallipopi’s song ‘Benin Boys’.

This isn’t Burna Boy’s only recent achievement. ‘Higher’ also set a record for the most streams on its first day for a solo song by an African artist on Spotify.

‘Higher’ came out on June 27, 2024. In the song, Burna Boy talks about appreciating what’s important while enjoying success.

Burna Boy made the music video for ‘Higher’ special by filming it in his hometown, Port Harcourt. While there, he worked with his charity called “Project PROTECT”. This charity teames up with The R.E.A.C.H. to help people in Nigeria who don’t have access to basic services.
