Former University of Cambridge professor Jason Arday has been found de.ad in London, shortly after stepping down from his academic position amid allegations of plagiarism
Arday, 41, was reportedly found unresponsive at an address in Battersea on Friday afternoon.

He had resigned last week from his role as professor of sociology of education at Cambridge, a position he took in 2023 when he became the university’s youngest Black professor.
Following his de.ath, Arday’s family expressed their shock and said he had been subjected to what they described as a “campaign of misinformation”.
His resignation came after reports raised allegations that parts of his PhD thesis at Liverpool John Moores University had been plagiarised.
Questions were also raised about other aspects of his reported life story, including claims that he completed a 600-mile run in six days and helped raise millions of pounds for charity.
