A Catholic priest has issued a public apology after a video surfaced online showing him striking an altar boy on the head during a wedding ceremony
The incident, which took place when the boy struggled to hold the microphone steady, sparked mixed reactions on social media.
In the footage, the priest, visibly frustrated, is seen hitting the altar boy, prompting viewers to express differing opinions. While some saw the act as a harmless gesture, others criticized it as inappropriate for a sacred event.
Responding to the backlash, the unnamed priest explained his actions, saying, “I accidentally tapped him on the head. It wasn’t intended to hurt or embarrass him. I just wanted him to hold the microphone properly.” He expressed remorse to the boy and his family, acknowledging that his behavior was wrong.
Despite the apology, many remain critical, accusing the priest of only apologizing due to public pressure.
