Catholic Priest Kidnapped In Ekiti As Fayose Places N2m Bounty On Anyone With Info

    A Catholic priest Fr. Emmanuel
    Akingbade, who presides over St.
    Benedict’s Catholic Church in Ido Ekiti has been abducted by a
    three-man gang who whisked him away to an unknown destination.
    The trained lawyer and Assistant
    Director, Justice, Development and Peace Initiative (JDPI) of his church,  was kidnapped on Tuesday night, after the
    three-man gang gained entrance into his residence with weapons in their hands.
    The Bishop of the diocese Most
    Rev. Felix Ajakaye who confirmed the incidence said the incident is sad and
    devastating.

    “They told
    the priest that some amount of money had been paid on his life except if he
    could pay them N20m. They asked him to put on any clothe he liked and drove him
    away, since then we have not been able to establish contact with him,”  Ajakaye said. 
    Ajakaye also mentioned the
    abductors carted away with the priest’s computer laptop, undisclosed amount of
    money and a mobile phone.
    Meanwhile, the Governor of Ekiti
    state, Ayodele Fayose has placed a two-million Naira bounty on the kidnappers
    of Father Emmanuel Akingbade after assuring Ekiti State people that the priest
    will be rescued.
