Chadwick Boseman’s family is now locked in a legal battle with his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, over the late actor’s estate, nearly six years after his de.ath

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Boseman’s brothers, Derek and Kevin Boseman, have filed a lawsuit on behalf of their parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, seeking to remove Taylor as the administrator of his estate.

They are also asking the court to order the immediate distribution of their parents’ share of the inheritance.

In 2022, a court ruled that Boseman’s estate, valued at more than $3.8 million, should be divided equally between his widow and his parents. Taylor was awarded 50 percent, while Leroy and Carolyn were each entitled to 25 percent. The ruling came because the “Black Panther” star died without leaving a will.

However, the brothers claim that nearly four years after the ruling, their parents have still not received their inheritance.

In the lawsuit, they alleged that Taylor has maintained complete control over the estate and has prevented Chadwick’s parents from participating in the process or bringing the matter to a close.

The filing also accuses Taylor of failing to fully disclose all of Boseman’s assets. The brothers claim she left out royalties, residual payments, rights to Chadwick’s likeness and intellectual property, real estate, and previously undisclosed bank accounts. They also alleged that several SAG-AFTRA residual payments made between 2020 and the present were omitted from official financial reports.

They further argued that Chadwick Boseman’s likeness and intellectual property rights are being controlled through Chadwick Boseman Inc., a company they say is fully controlled by Taylor, insisting those rights should belong to all of the actor’s heirs, including his parents.

The brothers concluded that Taylor’s handling of the estate raises concerns that assets may be hidden from both the court and the family. Taylor has not publicly responded to the allegations.

Chadwick Boseman, best known for starring in “Black Panther” and “42,” died on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer. His passing shocked fans around the world.
