Chelsea FC is close to finalizing the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United
The two clubs have agreed on a deal that will see Sancho join Chelsea on an initial loan, with the option to make the move permanent next summer.
The 24-year-old England international will reportedly sign a long-term contract with Chelsea.
This transfer marks another significant signing for Chelsea this summer, following the arrivals of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Filip Jorgensen.
Sancho previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, making 21 appearances and scoring three goals.
The move comes after Sancho’s dispute with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, which led to him being excluded from first-team training.
Although Sancho returned to training with the main group earlier this summer, he was left out of United’s squad for the first two Premier League games.
With a surplus of wide players, including Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony, Ten Hag has opted to let Sancho join Chelsea.
However, the transfer will be completed too late for Sancho to feature in Chelsea’s upcoming match against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
