Tension has resurfaced between clergyman Chris Okafor and Nollywood actress Doris Ogala after the pastor publicly withdrew the apology he previously offered her during a church service
In December 2025, Okafor had drawn attention when he went on his knees during a sermon to apologise to the actress amid the controversy surrounding their relationship.
However, speaking during another sermon, the pastor insisted he did nothing wrong and explained that the apology was not an admission of guilt.
According to him, the gesture was made solely out of consideration for fellow spiritual leaders who supported him throughout the scandal.
“I withdraw that, there was no single apology because I cannot apologize for what I don’t know”, he said.
The dispute began after Ogala accused the pastor of failing to fulfil a promise to marry her. She also alleged that he shared explicit content and subjected her to emotional distress.
The actress has since taken the matter to court, filing a lawsuit against Okafor and demanding N1 billion in damages for what she described as a breach of promise to marry.
