The Concerned Christian Youth Forum (CCYF) has cautioned activist and journalist Omoyele Sowore against making derogatory remarks about prominent Christian leaders in Nigeria

The group, led by its president James Paul Adama, accused Sowore of cyberstalking, public insults, and inflammatory reporting against respected figures such as Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and Pastor Jerry Eze.
In a strong statement, the CCYF warned that any further attacks on these religious leaders would be met with a decisive response. They emphasized that while freedom of expression is a fundamental right, it should not be used to incite interfaith tensions or undermine the moral authority of spiritual figures.
The group also called on the Federal Government to intervene, stressing the need to balance constructive criticism with respect for religious institutions. They urged Sowore to cease his alleged attacks, warning that continued defamation could have serious consequences for national unity.
Despite these warnings, there is no official record of a legal order restraining Sowore from making such comments. However, the situation has sparked discussions on the limits of free speech and the role of religious leaders in public discourse.
