Nollywood actor Femi Branch has expressed his concerns about the practice of cinemas promoting one film over others, stating that it is unfair and harmful to the film industry

He claimed that some cinema staff wear t-shirts promoting a particular film, remove promotional materials for other films, and even change the scheduled screening times to favor one film over another.
Branch argued that this practice is not only unfair to producers and filmmakers but also affects the economy of the nation and the industry as a whole.
He emphasized that cinemas should remain neutral and provide an even playing field for all films, rather than taking sides and promoting one film over another.
He also criticized the fact that many producers and filmmakers are afraid to speak out against this practice for fear of being blacklisted or having their films rejected by cinemas.
Femi Branch urged his colleagues to speak out against this injustice and demanded that cinemas stop meddling with films and give everybody an even chance.
Branch’s comments have sparked a heated debate in the film industry, with many agreeing that the practice of promoting one film over others is unfair and harmful. Others have argued that cinemas have the right to choose which films to promote and that it is a business decision.
However, Branch’s argument is that cinemas have a responsibility to provide a fair and neutral platform for all films, and that promoting one film over others is not only unfair but also detrimental to the industry as a whole. He has called on cinemas to stop this practice and to give all films an equal chance to succeed.
