Fabián Ruiz netted a brace and Ousmane Dembélé delivered a goal and an assist as Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Real Madrid 4–0 on Wednesday to book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final—and send Kylian Mbappé and his new club crashing out

PSG stunned the Madrid-heavy crowd at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with a blistering start, going up 3–0 within the first 24 minutes. Substitute Gonçalo Ramos capped the rout with a late goal in the 87th minute.
Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Mbappé early on and finished with two saves, as PSG kept their fifth clean sheet in six tournament games and completely smothered Madrid’s attack.
The match marked Mbappé’s first appearance against his former club since his high-profile move to Real Madrid last year. The French forward, who scored 256 goals in seven seasons with PSG, started alongside Gonzalo García but failed to make an impact.
PSG wasted no time applying pressure, forcing Thibaut Courtois into two big saves inside five minutes. In the sixth, Dembélé pounced on a defensive error by Raúl Asencio, slipped the ball away from Courtois, and teed up Ruiz for a one-time finish to open the scoring.
Minutes later, Dembélé struck again—this time dispossessing Antonio Rüdiger and slotting past Courtois to make it 2–0 before the ninth minute.
Mbappé had a third shot blocked just before PSG launched a devastating counterattack. Achraf Hakimi burst down the right wing, exchanged passes with Dembélé, and squared it across for Ruiz to score his second of the night in the 24th minute.
Real Madrid were without Trent Alexander-Arnold, reportedly sidelined due to a training injury.
PSG will now face Chelsea in Sunday’s final. The Premier League side won the title in 2021, while PSG are hoping to become the first French club to lift the trophy. The two clubs have met eight times in UEFA Champions League history, with PSG holding the edge with three wins, three draws, and two losses.
