Cop dismissed for r3ping 16-year-old girl in police station
The Benue State Police Command has dismissed a constable identified as Belasa Iyangedue for r3ping a 16-year-old kept in detention.
Punch correspondent gathered that the victim was detained for defamation.
While in detention at the Divisional Police headquarters, Tse Agbaragba in the Konshisha Local Government Area of the state, the constable who pretended to be assisting her, reportedly went into the female cell and took her into an office where he had s3xual intercourse with her against her consent.
The underage girl was said to have reported the case to the Divisional Police Officer leading to the arrest of the constable and the case brought to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Makurdi.
The constable is already being prosecuted at the Magistrates’ Court, Makurdi.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bartholomew Onyeka, confirmed his dismissal to journalists on Tuesday in Makurdi.
