The judge issued the order on Friday following a complaint by Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), who alleged that Natasha had been speaking to various media outlets, including the BBC and CNN, on the ongoing matter.

Justice Nyako emphasized that since the case is sub judice, all parties and their lawyers must refrain from public commentary and social media broadcasts concerning the suspension.

During the proceeding, Natasha’s lawyer, Jibril Okutepa (SAN), noted that the case was being heard for the first time since it was transferred from Justice Obiora Egwuatu’s court. He urged the court to hear all pending applications alongside the main suit, citing the limited duration of his client’s suspension. While some lawyers did not object, others opposed the application.

Justice Nyako ruled in favor of Okutepa and scheduled the hearing for May 12.

Senator Natasha is challenging her six-month suspension by the Senate, arguing that she was denied fair hearing before the decision was taken.
