The Nigerian Senate has decided not to investigate Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, stating that no formal petition was submitted

Senate spokesperson Yemi Adaramodu confirmed that without an official complaint, no probe would take place.
Meanwhile, Akpoti-Uduaghan has been referred to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions for disciplinary review following a dispute over seating arrangements in the chamber. The committee has two weeks to complete its investigation and present findings.
In a separate legal matter, a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory struck out Akpoti-Uduaghan’s defamation suit against Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello in June 2023, ruling it incompetent.
These developments reflect the ongoing political and legal challenges surrounding the senator.
