Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, has expressed his frustration with the challenging business environment in Nigeria, stating that both state and federal governments fail to create a conducive atmosphere for businesses to flourish

He made this statement in response to the controversy surrounding his refinery, revealing that he received no support or incentives from the Nigerian government to build his $20 billion refinery at the Lekki Free Trade Zone.

Dangote made this known when he received the leadership of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu. He emphasized that his company paid $100 million for the land and received no free incentives from the government.

Despite the challenges, Dangote remains undeterred, urging the House of Representatives to investigate the quality of diesel and petrol at filling stations, refuting claims that his refinery’s products are substandard.
