David Beckham has opened up about marrying Victoria Beckham without really knowing her, admitting he was drawn to her strength
When David Beckham and Victoria Beckham met in 1997, little did they know their encounter would spark a love story spanning over 20 years
However, David recently revealed some details about their early days together.
Despite their romance and eventual marriage, David confessed that he didn’t truly know Victoria as a person when he first decided she was the one.
Meeting in the Manchester United players’ lounge, the attraction was immediate, but David’s knowledge of Victoria was limited to her public persona as Posh Spice.
Recalling the moment he knew she was special, David reminisced about hearing the Spice Girls’ hit “Say You’ll Be There” and declaring to his friend Gary Neville, “I’m going to marry that one in the short black dress.”
His initial attraction was purely physical, as he, like many others, fancied her without knowing much about her personality.
However, what drew David even closer to Victoria was her strength as a woman. Reflecting on their journey, David admitted, “I didn’t realize what a strong woman she was, and that is what attracted me to her more than anything.”
Despite this early lack of insight into each other’s personalities, David and Victoria built a lasting relationship, raising four children together and sharing glimpses of their journey through social media and documentaries. In 2017, they renewed their vows in a private ceremony with only six attendees, further solidifying their bond.
