Pop star, Davido has advised African Americans not to relocate to Africa, stressing it’s not rosy back there at the moment
In an interview on the Big Homies House podcast, the singer cautioned that despite Africa’s charm, the current economic realities make it a challenging destination for those considering a move.
He cited Nigeria as an example, highlighting the country’s economic struggles. “It’s not cool back home. The economy now is in shambles,” he said.
He also noted out the paradox of Nigerians paying high prices for domestically produced oil.
While acknowledging Africa’s growing global appeal, particularly in the entertainment industry, Davido emphasized that this “smokescreen” masks deeper issues.
“We Nigerians, the exchange rate is messed up, the oil prices is too high. Imagine a country producing oil and we are paying more for oil than countries importing it. We do not have the best leaders, and that is a fact,”
“My aim is to show off the little parts and leave the slums out of the frame,”, he added.
