Excitement is building as Afrobeat superstar Davido announces the release date of his eagerly awaited duet with Grammy-winning artist Angelique Kidjo.
The new song, titled “JOY,” will be released on Friday, August 30th.
Davido shared his excitement on social media, expressing how honored he felt to collaborate with the legendary Beninese-French singer-songwriter.
He wrote, “It was an honor working with the legend @angeliquekidjo on JOY. Dropping Friday.”
Angelique Kidjo also expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating that the song embodies everything she stands for.
She thanked Davido for his contribution, adding, “This song JOY is who I am! Coming out this Friday, thank you @davido for bringing your LIGHT! No one could have done it better.We hope this song can bring the world together for a moment of JOY!”
This collaboration isn’t their first—Davido and the 64-year-old singer previously worked together on his hit song “Na Money,” alongside The Cavemen.
