Afrobeats star Davido has stepped into a key political role ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election, joining the campaign team of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, disclosed via his X page on Tuesday that he has been appointed Head of Youth Mobilisation for the governor’s re-election bid under the Accord Party.
“I have been appointed by the Governor of OSUN STATE @AAdeleke_01 and flag bearer of the ACCORD PARTY as HEAD YOUTH MOBILIZATION OF CAMPAIGN COUNCIL!
“We look forward to a smooth campaign and you RE-ELECTION Your Excellency! 4+4.”
The announcement signals Davido’s deeper involvement in his uncle’s political ambitions as preparations ramp up for the August 2026 poll, where Adeleke will be seeking another term in office.
