Afrobeats star Davido is celebrating a big achievement as his new single, ‘Awuke’ has reached number one on Apple Music Nigeria, surpassing Wizkid’s ‘Piece of My Heart’.
Released on October 31, 2024, ‘Awuke’ features YG Marley, the grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley. It quickly rose to the top of Spotify Nigeria’s charts, reaching number one within just five hours.
This record-breaking success makes ‘Awuke’ the first song in Nigeria to hit the top spot on Spotify NG based on partial-day streams, underscoring Davido’s continued popularity and the strong reception of his latest release.
